I believe I have the best dogs ever. I know a lot of people say they have the best dogs ever but mine really are the best. Their names are Sheba and Kiki. Both of my dogs are so smart that there are times when I have to spell around them. That's scary. Here is a picture of the best puppies ever.
My post today will be about Sheba
Sheba is a German Shepard mix from a broken home. She was adopted from a shelter in Florida by my husband and given to me as a Valentine's Day gift. That was around eight years ago. She is a very intelligent dog. She has had no professional training, just training from me. She knows how to sit up, shake hands, and give kisses. The amazing thing is, she can do all three at the same time. At night when it is time for bed we, the puppies and I, have a little ritual we go through. As I head to my bedroom, Sheba sits and waits at the edge of the bed for me to get them their treat. It is something we have done for years. One treat before bed. Most of the time Kiki is laying in another room or is outside. I said to Sheba once, "go get your girl." Sheba headed out the doggie door and within four or five seconds she came back in the door with Kiki right behind her. I couldn't believe what she did. Sheba knew exactly what I wanted her to do. Now, every night if Kiki is outside, Sheba will go get her "girl" without me asking her to because she knows that it is time for a treat.
One evening I was taking the garbage out and accidentally tripped on a dog toy and was unable to get up. It sounds like the commercial of the woman who fell and said, "I've fallen and I can't get up." Well, that was true with me. Sheba came outside and I said to her, "go get daddy." She took off inside and came back out about thirty seconds later. I told her again. "Go get daddy, Sheba. Go get daddy." Again she went inside and again after about thirty seconds she came back out the doggie door. This time her "daddy", my husband, was right behind her. Thanks to Sheba, she was able to understand what I wanted her to do and was able to convince my husband to follow her outside and there he found me laying on the ground unable to get up. I don't know what I would do without her. The next time I post to my blog it will be about Sheba's adopted "sister" Kiki.
