My day started out with me going to physical therapy for a foot injury. My injury came as a result of a back injury that happened a few years ago. That injury has now affected my feet and legs.
After therapy I had some errands to run. I went by my pharmacy to pick up some medication. As I drove by Food Lion I noticed a sign that said they were closing and that any items left were 75% off. So I had to stop and see what they had left. I bought a few things but there wasn't much left on the shelves. After Food Lion I realized that I had not eaten all day and decided to go to McDonald's.
Going through the drive-thru, I noticed a new burger on the menu. A Quarter Pounder BLT. I ordered the new burger and a gallon of sweet tea. Once I got home and unwrapped the burger I noticed that something was missing. There was no bacon on the BLT, plus they had added cheese, which I did not ask for. So there I was, on my way back to McDonald's to exchange burgers. I was going to make sure they got it right this time. I went inside and showed the girl behind the counter the mistake and asked for a new burger. The more I stood there the more I realized I really didn't want that kind of burger anymore. So instead I asked to exchange it for Big Mac. I am so glad I got the Big Mac. It hit the spot.
Once I was back home again I just wanted to relax a bit so I went outside to my carport to sit on my swing. I sat for a few minutes watching birds fly around. I had placed a hummingbird feeder with nectar in it on my carport. While watching the neighborhood birds, a hummingbird flew up to the feeder which was only a few feet away from me. After feeding for thirty seconds or so it flew off just as quickly as it came.
Something caught my attention across the carport. Something dark with quick movements. It was a beautiful blue swallowtail butterfly. It flew into a small spider web and was trapped. I walked over and rescued the butterfly from it's prison. To my amazement the butterfly didn't fly away. It stayed on my hand for about ten minutes. I have done this quite a few times. I've caught a butterfly and it just stayed on my finger for a while without flying off. Maybe they know how much I love them and that I would never hurt them. They are so beautiful and delicate. They truly are a gift from GOD.
Below is a picture of the type of butterfly I had the joy of holding.
